May Day 2026
May Day Strong in Waukegan
Join NE Lake County Indivisible, PSL, IWLC, DSA, and a coalition of Lake County partners on International Workers’ Day and A Day Without Immigrants as we demand: Families over fortunes! No ICE! No war!
If you have been with us for the No Kings protests…
If you have heard of the 3.5% rule…
If you are tired of being ignored by your politicians…
If you think it’s time the billionaires felt a pull at their purse strings…
If you are outraged by Trump using YOUR tax dollars to fund terror across the nation and overseas…
This is the next step!
Friday May 1 at 2pm, we will gather at Corrine J. Rose Park at 412 S Lewis Ave, Waukegan. We will march 1.7 miles, beginning and ending at the park. Folks with mobility issues are invited to bring chairs and station themselves at the park. After our march, we will feature compelling speakers and calls to action.
No Kings brought us together. The May Day message of No Work, No School, No Shopping is an escalation of our resistance. When you look at how the US and other countries have fought authoritarianism in the past, cutting off their economic power is key. We are in this together with some great organizations including National Indivisible, the Women’s March, SURJ, and countless unions across the nation.
Because when the billionaires break every rule, it’s going to take more than a rally to stop them.
Our demands for May 1st
Tax the rich, so our families, not their fortunes, come first.
No ICE. No war. No private army serving unchecked federal power.
Expand democracy, not corporate power. Hands off our vote!
Together we will be flexing our collective muscle in a tremendous day of power - showing our unity through a day of marches, rallies, and actions including No Work No School No Shopping in many cities.
May 1st is both International Workers’ Day and A Day Without Immigrants. Join us through action and community.
Rebuilding Trust In Government and Each Other
Join us for a discussion of what we can do in Kenosha to restore trust in our communities and our institutions with positive examples from the US and around the world.
